"You must BE the change you want to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

The NEW site My Clean India (MCI) is a not for profit concept promoting the empowerment of self and your community. Anyone can participate in "My Clean" including societies. (So as you can see, in Allahabad it was KWT - a trust to help the disadvantaged). Join the spirit of My Clean and let's create community!

For MCI, “cleanliness” is more than just litter and includes the quality of air, water and soil.  Cleanliness is also just a symptom of the community..

As Gandhiji once said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world”, so it is about being in action. My Clean is simply a concept promoting community spirit and for the younger generation especially, leadership skills.

Longer term, we are about creating a Tipping Point and it is happening! In Nainital they have introduced Mission Butterfly - a community initiated and owned program to manage solid waste. Brilliant! Above all, there is a shift in awareness that the community can do it.

Worldwide, cleanliness points to prosperity. "Cleanliness" in all its forms, shows we care about our future, our community and the environment. It leads to prosperity and beauty.

Overview of My Clean India

My Clean India (MCI) is an exciting new opportunity to inspire people in your community to show their love and pride in their environment. This can lead to profound changes.

MCI stands for appreciative inquiry as a strategy for purposeful change that identifies the best of "what is" to pursue dreams and possibilities of "what could be." It is a co-operative search for the strengths, passions and life-giving forces that are found within every system—those factors that hold the potential for inspired, positive change. (see Appreciative Inquiry and Community Development.)

Students in particular have an opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership skills.

MCI is not-for-profit and membership is open and free to anyone or any group who wishes to inspire others into action (donations welcomed).

The MCI website explains what and how and in particular ;

  • Records the actions of people & communities; and
  • Acknowledges those who take action in the spirit of MCI.
